Luxury independent department store, Fenwick has partnered with leading digital and cloud service provider, ANS, to optimise their Microsoft Azure public cloud environment.
Fenwick were an early adopter of Azure but after organic growth over a period of time they faced substantial increases in cloud costs as they grew, Fenwick engaged ANS to help evaluate the current cloud platform and identify areas that they could cut costs and drive efficiencies in order to further develop its digital capabilities.
Using the ANS Cloud Check service, ANS ensured Fenwick’s automation, scaling and resource provisioning was configured to maximise costs efficiencies and as a result, Fenwick were able to identify a potential saving of up to 38%. The service also enabled Fenwick to address cloud governance, validate best practice and increase operational efficiency.
Andy Lee, Head of IT at Fenwick said, “ANS’ complimentary Cloud Check service was invaluable to us. We wanted to ensure our cloud environment was as cost efficient as possible so we could reinvest any savings back into the shop floor and so we were delighted when ANS identified savings of 38%. The architecture efficiency report also recommended several architectural improvements to help us align the environment to best practice.”
A spokesperson at ANS added, “I’m thrilled that our Cloud Check service has proved to be so valuable to Fenwick. Often organisations neglect their cloud environments from an efficiency perspective. Having delivered many cloud checks, we always find there are efficiencies to be made, even when organisations believe their environment is already well-optimised.”
