Adur & Worthing Councils has partnered with leading cloud and digital services provider, ANS to provide an AWS co-managed service, enabling them to grow the environment in accordance with best practice while freeing up their team to focus on delivering service improvement activities.
The councils, which have been working in partnership since 2008, provide essential services to over 180,000 residents and businesses in the West Sussex region.
The organisation, which has a cloud-first strategy in place, had started the migration of services to AWS, but having struggled to make progress at pace, decided to partner with ANS to co-manage their AWS estate.
Since moving to the ANS co-managed service, the organisations have been able to benefit from regular service reviews to ensure AWS best practice is followed. The service has also meant the councils now have assurance that their AWS instances are secure through patching and up to date antivirus, and are also backed up, enabling them to concentrate their efforts on cloud initiatives and service improvement activities.

Unfortunately, the progress of our migration was slower than we’d hoped because we were being held back by the time and resource spent on day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of our IT estate. It made sense to us to look for a partner that could manage this for us.
ANS understood our goals and timeframes and we were confident they had the expert technical resources in place to deliver the service we needed.
As part of our co-managed service, we have access to ANS’ subject matter experts who have helped us to grow and scale our environment in accordance with AWS best practice. They have also helped us to proactively look at new AWS services and enhancements and crucially it has also enabled us to pick up the pace of our migration strategy.”
